Terms and Conditions
For the centre to operate safely and without liability for the provider, certain operational requirements and restrictions must be adhered to. These are formalised under a operational contract between provider and the recipient. A summary of the key issues are listed below:
Briefing/Debriefing
The Lifewise Development Manager will present a Health and Safety briefing at the commencement of any event.
Fire Procedure
A full fire procedure is in place and will form part of the contractual agreement to meet its conditions and restrictions.
Staff Support
For each event the Lifewise Development Manager plus administrative support staff can be expected, their duties are to ensure the centre is operated safely in line with Health and Safety Risk Assessments. Staff are there to facilitate the safe use of the centre, not be core to the activity. Additional staffing requirements should be highlighted at the earliest stage possible by the booking party.
Ratios of Staff to Participants
The following are in addition to Scenario Managers and Centre Staff.
Children and Young People
1 member of staff to 10 pupils pro rata per group.
Special Needs
1 member of staff to 5 participants
Adult groups
No additional support - group will be briefed and then given a map to guide them through the event following the necessary safety briefs.
Some scenario areas differ in size and as a guide, group sizes should be no more than 15 in order to comfortably accommodate all participants.
